Yum Yum Vietnamese Restaurant in Calgary

Yum Yum is a hidden gem among the plenty of Chinese/Viet restaurants in Calgary. Staff are friendly, proportion sizes are fairly large and price is low. The only complaint is that some of the food is slightly subpar. The noodle that comes with the Peking Duck is somewhat too chewy and the duck itself is slightly dry.

Not a big place, just few tables

Sorry to give 3 stars because inside didn’t feel clean and food was ok. We come here because saw new paper had deal and discount but food was ok only wasn’t clean on table and floors. Hope this review help owner to getting better business and improve their care.

I'm reviewing the Chinese cuisine. The food is great and flavourful. Prices are low–lower than a lot of other Chinese restaurants. They're also open pretty late.If they aren't busy, food comes out very fast. If it's really busy, you'll have to wait a long time for food

Because it's cheap, no delicious. Because of the price.

The portion for price is great. Pho and vermicelli bowls are super yummy .They also have a 15% off right now. Highly recommended.

They offered staple dishes priced well and decent portions. Some dishes like Peking Duck wraps were tolerable as duck pieces were dry for us and other tables I noticed as servers walked by. Our other common stir fry dishes were cooked well with okay taste.

Great place to eat at. Prices are cheap with big portions and the ingredients used aren't cheap either. Hope this place stays busy and open for a long time

We just had the Peking duck special and it was amazing! There is the usual crispy duck breast with crepes, scallions and cucumber along with duck chow mein and duck soup. Our only other experience with Peking duck was in Beijing where they carved the ducks tableside and that was a little bit better but this was definitely comparable. More food than the two of us could eat for ~$30

Best chinese and viet food in town u wont regret it! and they also open til late night so never have to worry about what to have when every other stores are closed in calgary

Very reasonably priced pho and spring rolls. Very big portions (we got bonus spring rolls!) Soup base is fairly good but could be richer.

The Food was fairly large portions and served with rice. This is quite tasty and delicious. Service was fast and efficient. This restaurant serves vietnamese cuisine in the daytime and Chinese cuisines in the evening. They have daily discounts.

The food isn't bad and very reasonable in price. The customer service isn't exactly there. I stood at the front for a while before they took my name down. And the only reason they took my name down was because I asked them to. Now, I came during dinner time with my family, and it was pretty busy. After being seated, I was able to see how understaffed they were. There were only 2 servers greeting, seating, taking orders, clearing plates, serving food, and taking payment. To be honest, I think they worked as hard as they could... there were only 2 servers where there should have been 4 to 5 people working the front end. The food was not bad, but my experience would have been better if the establishment ran their front end better.

Been a regular customer coming for the pho. The restaurant recently expanded their menu options to include Chinese entree dinner dishes. Tonight, took my family to try out their new menu items and we were impressed. Each dish was very well prepared, great portions, not oily and perfectly cooked. Definitely on my recommend list and plan on coming again for the Chinese dinner dishes.

Tasty, reasonable price

Excellent menu price.

Had the stewed braised beef noodle and the garnish of the carrots had gone bad and was slimy. The next time I ordered the beef noodle special and the beef tendon went bad, it had this weird taste and smell to it. I complained and told the server both times. You could get food poisoning or upset stomach. Don't recommend this place. the health inspector needs to visit this place.

This restaurant changed ownership about 3 months ago. The name is still the same but the Chinese name has changed. They only serve Chinese food here now, not Vietnamese. But the Chinese dishes are quite good. Reasonable prices, same as other Chinese restaurants. The website is no longer affiliated with them. The opening hours also changed.

Beef saté pho was spicy and good. The taste of saté is strong and has an entangling aroma. I've tried their regular pho and the taste is mild. The service here is really lacking though. It'll be hard for you to get their attention after ordering because they never check up on you. The pho can change drastically between days so keep that in mind. 4 stars for flavour!It's an overall decent place for pho and they usually run 25% off on Tuesdays.

Best value for Chinese food in Calgary. Dinner for 10 under $200, you can’t go wrong for the price. The dinner platters are very good sized. Quality of food is good but can be inconsistent. On good days, the Seafood fried rice is one of the better ones in Calgary. With only 10 tables and a small private room they certainly do a lot with only 2 waitresses.

Amazing food and service!

The portions are massive. The price is more than fair. The best item here are the oysters. Peking duck is so-so. Everything else are a hit or miss. There’s not much space inside so the tables are quite crowded and close together. There are some seats that you literally can’t move much or else you will be touching someone behind you. Service varies from average to non existent pending on how busy it is. Ample curb side parking after 6pm, main lot is small and full usually. You need to prepare for 15-30 minute wait on tables on weekends.

The best thing about this place are the prices. They have this menu deal order 4 dishes under $10 get a 5th one free. The beef was a bit on the sweet side and the duck was too salty, but at those prices my family didn't really care. We ordered 9 dishes and it was just over $100 before tip. Pretty decent dinner IMO.

Good quality food at an excellent price

The price of the food is very reasonable. We got the Peking duck and the kids loved it. Not a fancy looking restaurant but for a causal dinner with a family that's ok. There is only one washroom for man and one for woman. No baby change table.

Beef Ho fun, salt and pepper squid, seafood fried rice are definitely a hit here.

Excellent food and the price is right. The foods have enough flavour and you can feel the fire of the wok in every dish. Food came out burning. Would recommend to anyone

The pricing is way better than other Chinese restaurants, you do save 15% each time you eat there which is great using that 15% as a tip for the employees

Update: looks like pho is back on the menu boys!25% off Tuesday and 15% off other days for Pho during lunch make it an outstanding deal.

Day time Vietnamese Food night time is Chinese food here. Not try Vietnamese yet. But Chinese here cheap and good meal. They have deal BBQ duck with soup 22$ the place not big but food good for night times.

Good tasty food, a little cheaper than elsewhere but service was a bit slow tonight, Sunday evening. 2nd time for us.

Very busy, spotted it on my way home. I ordered sweet and sour pork combo with rice, got noodles instead, so I ate it anyway. Not bad, veggies tasted good but sauce was slimy weird! Set and sour pork was just okay not great, asked for fork, waited a while! Had to sit at table with other people, it was okay, just weird! Chinese tea was lukewarm should be hot! Not my favorite place

Food is yummy and in good price!

Delicious noodle soup and vermicelli! Great prices and deals, and their Chinese food is really good too! This is my personal go-to phở place in Calgary for sure!

Good portion and quality. They have happy hours in the evening offering 25% off the menu.

Amazing food. Went here during the summer after seeing an advertisement in a newspaper. Service was quick, and awesome. Gave us a free plate of sweet and sour pork even.
